Have you ever wondered why wolves are one of the most hunted canid species? Ever wonder why they are hunted more than foxes or the wolf's cousin the coyote? Perhaps you need to be taken back through history, to a land of myth and legend. No one on today's modern earth will ever know this tale except for you, young adventurer. Listening up now? Good.
It is bred into most humans blood to hunt animals and kill them, whether it's fr sport or just anger at the species. Back in the 20th Century, wolves were almost driven to extinction but fortunately passionate conservationists saved the species of wild canine by taking them into captivity and breeding them until they could be released into the wild. Today, the world is more abundant with the wolves. But they still threatened. What is my point? My point is that since history began the wolves have been scattered and running, and always threatened by humans. You'd say so are lions, tigers, and leopards and I'll admit they are very threatened. But have they always been like that? Not exactly.
Thousands of years ago, before America or the Far Eastern countries even existed, there was a large country that was in much later years destroyed by water from the ocean and is today just part of the seabed. This country consisted of kingdoms of humans and clans of wolves that had it in the heritage to speak the English tongue. Once in a time of peace with the former King, the wolves were then threatened and at war with a King by the name of King Xanthus the IVth. For the wolves, they live by a code, and that code is "Survive or be lost forever". While on the other hand, the armies of High Castle live by another code, "Kill or be killed". The King believes wolves to be complete evil, which is a common misconception of the wolf species.
So who will you choose to defend? The humans. . . or the wolves, who come in peace?
